A traditional traditional method
Ashtanga yoga is a traditional method of yoga introduced in the West in the 1960s by Pattabhi Jois. It is a dynamic and rhythmic series of postures that generates energy. After a sun salutation ritual, the adepts perform postures by working on their breathing, which is very physical, before ending with relaxation.
Each posture (asana) has different effects on the body: front bending, back extension, twisting or stretching. Between each asana, the vinyasa (small sun salutation to do on the ground) heats and tones the body.
To free the mind from the constraints of the body, it is paradoxically necessary to use this body, that is to say to master it.
Its effects?
It helps relieve stress, release tension, firm up and relax muscles, cleanses and purifies the body, acts on emotions, calms the mind, brings joy and health.
